Data Analytics Lead Data Scientist, Demand Forecasting at Scout Motors Inc.

Lead Data Scientist builds probabilistic demand forecasting models from limited historical data to power Scout Motors' business planning and inventory decisions.

Senior Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Here at Scout Motors, we’re carrying forward the heritage of one of the most iconic American vehicles in history. A vehicle dating back to 1960. One that forged the path for future generations of rugged SUVs and trucks and will do so once again.

But Scout is more than just a brand, it’s a legacy steeped in a culture of exploration, caretaking, and hard work.

The Scout brand is all about respect. Respect for the past and the future by taking an iconic American brand that hasn’t been around for a while, electrifying it, digitizing it, and loading it with American innovation. Respect for communities by creating a company that stands for its people and its customers. Respect for both work and play, with vehicles that are equally at home at a camp site, a job site, or on a Tuesday commute. And respect for our customers by developing two powertrains that meet their requirements — an all-electric powertrain as well as the Harvester™ range extender powertrain which includes a built-in gas-powered generator with an estimated 500 miles of combined range.

At Scout Motors, we empower our talented, inclusive, and entrepreneurial teams to innovate. What makes a Scout employee? Someone who is a visionary and a leader, who seeks new paths and shares lessons learned. A knowledgeable doer who collaborates across the company to build better. A go-getter with unrivaled passion.

Join us at Scout Motors and be part of shaping the future of transportation. If you’re ready to drive change and make history, apply now!

Role Overview

Scout Motors is building its first enterprise demand forecast - and there’s no sales history to build it on.

As a VW Group–backed EV company in the run-up to launch, Scout has reservations data, an enthusiastic and loyal community, and a product about to enter the market — but not the years of historical sales a demand model usually leans on. That’s the problem this role owns: building a rigorous, probabilistic forecast from the signals that do exist, and growing it into the analytical engine of Scout’s planning system as real demand data arrives.

This is the first dedicated modeling seat in Integrated Business Planning. You’ll develop the demand forecasting model and own the data behind it — then partner with IT and Product Management to productionize it into the digital IBP product Scout is building, so the forecast lives where the business actually plans and decides.

What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Build Scout’s first demand forecasting model — probabilistic rather than point-estimate, forecasting unconstrained demand at the grain the business plans on. Convert reservation backlog with explicit probabilities, phase the timing of that conversion, and layer in organic demand as its own signal.
  • Solve the cold-start problem — stand up a credible forecast before there’s sales history, using reservations, configurator and order data, market analogs, and structured priors — then systematically replace assumptions with data as the market gives it to us.
  • Own the demand data end to end — source, define, and steward the data that feeds the forecast; build the pipelines and the feature/data layer; own data quality and the shared definitions everyone downstream depends on.
  • Partner across the business to get the inputs and outputs right — work with the teams that own the signals feeding the forecast and the teams that consume it, so the model is grounded in real inputs and lands in a format the business can actually use.
  • Make the forecast legible — document methodology and assumptions, quantify uncertainty honestly, and explain the model’s logic clearly to non-technical stakeholders in Finance, Commercial, Production, and Procurement.
  • Productionize with IT and Product — partner with engineering to move the model from notebooks into the IBP digital product (pipelines, deployment, monitoring, retraining)
  • Stand up forecast measurement — back-testing, accuracy tracking, and model monitoring, so the forecast improves on a known cadence as post-launch data accumulates and the model is retrained against reality.
  • Lay the foundation for what’s next — build the data and modeling base that Scout’s future AI/ML planning capabilities will extend.

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC.
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

What you’ll bring

We expect all Scout employees to have integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness, and strive to exhibit a positive attitude, as well as a growth mindset. You’ll be comfortable with change and flexible in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You’ll take a collaborative approach to achieve ambitious goals. Here’s what else you’ll bring:

  • 12+ years of applied data science or forecasting, or equivalent experience — you’ve built and shipped statistical or ML models that other people depend on, not just one-off analyses.
  • MS of PhD in a quantitative discipline(statistics, applied math, physics, operations research, economics, or similar), or equivalent applied experience
  • A strong probabilistic and time-series modeling foundation — hierarchical, Bayesian, or other methods suited to granular, sparse, and uncertain demand. You reason in distributions, not just predictions.
  • Fluent in Python and the modern modeling stack, strong SQL, and comfortable owning data end to end — pipelines, quality, and definitions, not just the model that sits on top.
  • Experience forecasting with sparse, new-product, or cold-start data — analogs, priors, judgment-augmented methods — and honest about the limits of each.
  • You’ve put models into production alongside engineering and product; you think about deployment, monitoring, and retraining, not just the notebook.
  • You work fluently with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) to build, prototype, and ship faster — and have the judgment to know where they help and where they don’t.
  • You translate technical work for non-technical audiences and can defend a forecast to a skeptical, senior, cross-functional room.
  • A high-ownership mindset, comfortable in a fast-moving, build-it-yourself environment where the data and the priorities are still maturing
  • Nice to have: automotive, manufacturing, or other physical-product demand; demand sensing or hierarchical forecasting; ML Ops; experience embedding models inside a digital product.

What you’ll gain

The benefits of joining Scout include the chance to build products and a company from the ground up.  This is a chance to create something new and lasting – with an iconic brand at its foundation.  In addition, Scout provides competitive compensation and benefits to support your physical, mental, and financial wellbeing. Program specifics are detailed in company policies and employee benefit guides, select highlights:

  • Competitive insurance including:
    • Medical, dental, vision and income protection plans
  • 401(k) program with:
    • An employer match and immediate vesting
  • Generous Paid Time Off including:
    • 20 days planned PTO, as accrued
    • 40 hours of unplanned PTO and 14 company or floating holidays, annually
    • Up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave for biological and adoptive parents of all genders
    • Paid leave for circumstances related to bereavement, jury duty, voting time, or military leave

Why This Role Matters

Scout’s entire planning system reconciles demand against supply and this is the seat that builds the demand side of that equation. You’ll own the model and the data from version one, with the rare chance to design them right before launch rather than retrofit them under pressure after. As Integrated Business Planning scales and the planning product matures, the person who built the forecast is positioned to grow into deeper technical and team ownership.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $160,000.00 - $192,500.00

Internal leveling code: IC7

Data Analytics Senior Remote Sensing Data Scientist at Muon Space

Develops and owns remote sensing data products from infrared imaging missions, designing algorithms for image processing and serving as product owner for customer-facing Earth observation analytics.

Senior Remote Posted 2 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About the role

Muon Space is building a family of infrared imaging missions designed for global wildfire detection and monitoring, weather and cloud characterization, and space-based environmental monitoring. Muon’s IR Data Products team builds the analytics system that processes the data from our spacecraft’s custom multispectral imaging instruments into data products and analytics for diverse end-user stakeholders from these missions. We are seeking a Remote Sensing Data Scientist to join this team with a focus on Orthomosaic Tile products spanning two of Muon’s core missions.

In the near term, this role will be a key contributor to the development of Orthomosaic Tile products for the FireSat Initial Operating Capability (IOC) constellation — diving deep into real-world data from a brand new system and writing production-ready code that feeds directly into customer-facing services. In parallel, this role will ramp up on Muon’s Space-Based Environmental Monitoring (SBEM) program, leading early product design for the SBEM granule product, authoring technical and customer-facing design documentation, and owning the IR Data team’s engagement with SBEM stakeholders. Looking ahead to 2027 and the SBEM launch, this role will serve as the full product owner for the SBEM granule product. This is a high-impact, multi-mission role that sits at the intersection of rigorous Earth observation science and fast-moving product development, and is well-suited for someone who thrives on both deep technical work and cross-functional collaboration.

This position can be performed remotely from an approved location.

Responsibilities

  • Develop imaging products for end-users from Muon’s infrared imaging missions, spanning both the FireSat Initial Operating Capability (IOC) and the Space-Based Environmental Monitoring (SBEM) program
  • Research, design, and implement scalable algorithms for image mosaicking, orthorectification, and radiometric normalization of multispectral infrared imagery.
  • Product owner for critical customer-facing imagery products in the SBEM and FireSat programs.
  • Author and maintain technical and customer-facing design documents for imagery products, ensuring alignment between internal capabilities and external stakeholder requirements.
  • Engage with customer technical stakeholders including Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), customer questions, and program meetings

  • Learn new topics as needed (measurement techniques, geospatial data engineering, software engineering, customer domain-specific implications)

Qualifications

  • PhD with 3+ years of industry experience; or MS with 6+ years industry experience; or BS +8 years industry experience
  • 4+ years of experience calibrating imaging instruments
  • Hands-on experience with complex data from new imaging instruments
  • Exceptional skills in python-based development and analysis
  • Strong statistical and mathematical skills
  • Ability to work with a distributed, interdisciplinary team (scientists, engineers, data support)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced start up environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with mid-wave infrared instruments and mid-wave infrared data processing
  • Calibrating on-orbit instruments
  • Deep knowledge of the science of remote sensing.
  • Experience with geospatial data processing
  • Familiarity with common geospatial data tooling and formats (e.g. XArray, COG, NetCDF)
  • Domain expertise in geospatial analytics

Data Analytics Senior Analytics Engineer (Contract) at TechnologyAdvice

Senior Analytics Engineer builds certified data models, semantic layers, and analytics platforms to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Senior Remote Posted 2 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Hi, we’re TechnologyAdvice.

At TechnologyAdvice, we pride ourselves on helping B2B tech buyers manage the complexity and risk of the buying process. We are a trusted source of information for tech buyers, delivering advice and facilitating connections between our buyers and the world’s leading sellers of business technology.

Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, we are a remote-first company with more than 20 digital publications and over 200 global team members in the US, UK, Singapore, Australia, and the Philippines. We’re proud to have been repeatedly recognized as one of America’s fastest growing private companies by Inc., as well as a Tennessee top workplace. We work hard each day and have fun, too, with monthly virtual events, recreational slack channels, and the occasional costumed dance from our CEO.

All positions are open to remote work unless otherwise specified in the requirements below.

The opportunity

We’re seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer who views data as a product and trusted business data as a strategic asset. You’ll partner closely with Engineering, Finance, Revenue, Marketing, Editorial, and other business teams to build the certified data models, semantic layers, and analytics platform that enable confident decision-making across TechnologyAdvice.

As an individual contributor on our distributed team, you’ll independently identify opportunities to improve how data is collected, modeled, validated, documented, and consumed throughout the organization. You’ll own initiatives from discovery and business definition through implementation, testing, documentation, adoption, and ongoing iteration—working directly with stakeholders to establish trusted metrics and eliminate ambiguity in how the business measures success.

We’re rebuilding the foundation of how trusted data is created, governed, and consumed across TechnologyAdvice. Success in this role isn’t measured by the number of dashboards built or SQL queries written. It’s measured by the trust the organization places in its data, the adoption of certified data models, improvements in decision-making, and your ability to independently identify and deliver high-value opportunities that improve how the company operates.

The best candidates are naturally curious, highly autonomous, and enjoy translating ambiguous business problems into scalable, trusted data products. They leverage modern AI tools to accelerate development, documentation, testing, and analysis while maintaining rigorous standards for data quality, governance, and engineering excellence.

Our goal is simple: every meeting, every dashboard, and every business decision should be powered by the same trusted data.

If you’re excited by the opportunity to help build a modern analytics platform where every meeting can rely on the same trusted metrics, we’d love to talk.

Location: India (Remote)

Employment Type: Contractor

What you’ll do

  • Own the design, implementation, and evolution of certified data models, semantic layers, and trusted business metrics that become the foundation for reporting and decision-making across TechnologyAdvice.
  • Partner directly with Finance, Revenue, Marketing, Editorial, Product, and Engineering stakeholders to understand business questions, define trusted metric definitions, and translate ambiguity into scalable data solutions.
  • Design, build, and maintain analytics models, transformations, and data products using modern analytics engineering practices.
  • Establish and continuously improve data quality through automated testing, validation, monitoring, and observability to ensure business stakeholders can trust the data they use every day.
  • Improve the architecture, organization, and maintainability of our analytics platform, continuously identifying opportunities to simplify, standardize, and modernize our Business Intelligence ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and Software Engineers to improve data ingestion, lineage, orchestration, governance, and platform reliability across the analytics stack.
  • Apply AI-assisted development practices to accelerate SQL development, documentation, testing, root cause analysis, and engineering productivity while maintaining rigorous standards for data quality and accuracy.
  • Document business definitions, data models, metric logic, and architectural decisions to improve transparency, onboarding, and long-term maintainability.
  • Continuously evaluate new technologies, AI capabilities, and analytics engineering practices that improve data quality, governance, developer productivity, and stakeholder confidence.
  • Own trusted data products end-to-end—from business discovery and metric definition through implementation, validation, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion a culture of trusted data by helping teams adopt certified data models and reducing duplicate business logic across reports, dashboards, and applications.

Who you are

  • Self-driven, highly autonomous, and comfortable operating in a remote-first environment while managing priorities and consistently delivering results.
  • Passion for building trust in data and continuously improving how organizations measure, understand, and act on business performance.

Experience with Redshift, BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, Dagster, Python, OpenMetadata, semantic layers, or metric stores is preferred, but exact technology matches are not required. This role is best suited for someone who brings a mindset for platform modernization, strong cross-functional partnership, a dedication to data quality and governance, and a practical approach to using AI to accelerate their analytics workflows.

Data Analytics Senior Allocation Analyst- Retail at Mejuri

Analyzes door-level retail performance data to optimize product allocation, replenishment decisions, and inventory distribution across store fleet.

Senior Posted 6 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Since 2015, Mejuri has reimagined what fine jewelry can be in a modern world—shifting it from a traditional gift to to a personal choice rooted in self-expression.

Founded by third-generation jeweller Noura Sakkijha, the brand was built on a simple idea: fine jewelry shouldn’t require a special occasion, and it should never come with guilt. It’s about celebrating yourself—your style, your life, your everyday.

Mejuri meets customers where they are—online, in app, and through a growing global retail footprint of 58+ stores worldwide. Mejuri is also deeply committed to doing things the right way, with responsible sourcing, sustainable practices, and philanthropic initiatives that reflect our values and long-term vision.

Job Overview

As a Senior Allocation Analyst at Mejuri, you will be part of the Merchandising team and act as the analytical engine of retail allocation.  As we sharpen how every door in our retail fleet performs, this role will impact how we turn door-level performance into the allocation and replenishment decisions that put the right product, in the right depth, in the right store, at the right time. You will directly impact how we drive sell-through, protect margin, and optimizing our fleet

You are an analytical self-starter who is equally at home in the data and in the room with Merchandising and Planning. You don’t just move units — you build the intelligence layer that explains how every door behaves, and you use it to make sharper allocation calls than the fleet has ever made before.

What you’ll do

Door & fleet analysis (the core of the role)

  • Own door-level performance analysis — sell-through, rate of sale, weeks of supply, in-stock rate, and productivity at the style, category, and price-point level.
  • Build and maintain store clusters and tiers, grouping doors by volume, productivity, capacity, and customer profile — and running the seasonal cluster resets as the fleet and assortment evolve.
  • Build the door- and cluster-level view of assortment productivity — where breadth and depth are over- or under-performing — and bring it forward to inform Merchandising’s assortment decisions; own the model-stock and depth targets that flow from the assortments they set.
  • Diagnose out-of-stocks and lost sales by door and variant, quantifying demand-transfer and revenue impact to prioritize replenishment and rebalancing.
  • Develop comparable-door and comparable-style analysis to benchmark performance and to seed demand for new products and doors.

Allocation & replenishment

  • Allocate and replenish product to doors against assortments, cluster minimums, capacity, and financial targets — balancing service level against excess and aged-inventory risk, and running rebalancing and inter-store transfers to chase demand.
  • Own initial allocation for newness and new store openings — run the weekly product-drop cadence (allocation, store assortment updates, launch tracking), seed new launches with test-and-scale reads that inform go-forward depth, set opening buys for new doors as the fleet scales, and flag launch and delay risk early.
  • Manage clearance and lifecycle transitions — size end-of-life and clearance exits by door, and execute material and assortment transitions and discontinued-product flow-through.
  • Balance inventory across channels and nodes — store, web, DC, and concessions — positioning and pooling stock to protect service levels and enable fulfillment flexibility such as ship-from-store.
  • Allocate across global markets — factoring the different lead times, sales shapes, and market requirements of the US, Canada, UK, and AU into depth and flow by region.
  • Optimize depth, pack, and size-curve logic by door (e.g., ring sizes, chain lengths) so the right quantities and variants land where they sell.

Data, insight & process

  • Own allocation master data and system hygiene — maintaining min/safety stock, model stock, and cluster assortments, and safeguarding the integrity of weekly reconciliation and file uploads.
  • Build and refine scalable allocation, replenishment, and reporting tools and models that grow with the business.
  • Close the loop with post-season hindsight — reviewing allocation effectiveness (did depth land where it sold? forecast vs. actual by cluster and door?) and feeding the read back into the next allocation cycle.
  • Bring the allocation point of view to cross-functional forums — S&OP, business reviews, pre-season planning, and launch-risk and new-store-opening meetings — so inventory positioning shapes decisions rather than just executing after them.
  • Translate analysis into clear, headline-first recommendations for Merchandising, Planning, and Retail leadership, and run the weekly reporting rhythm that shows where the fleet is winning, where it’s leaking, and what to do about it.
  • Set the standard for how allocation gets done — codify best practices, level up the tools and process, and act as the go-to resource who mentors and unblocks more junior planners, even without direct reports.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • 4–6 years of experience in retail allocation, merchandise planning, or inventory analysis in a fast-paced, multi-door retail environment.
  • A strong analytical toolkit: advanced Excel (comfortable building models from scratch), plus fluency — or a fast ramp — in SQL and BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Omni, or similar) to work with door-level data at scale.
  • Comfort with — or genuine curiosity about — AI-assisted modeling and analytics tools, and a drive to use them to build smarter, faster allocation logic.
  • A diagnostic mindset — you’re drawn to the why behind door performance, not just the mechanics of pushing units.
  • Command of the metrics allocation drives — sell-through, rate of sale, weeks of supply, in-stock %, and inventory turn.
  • Strong attention to data integrity — comfortable owning the master data, parameters, and files the allocation engine runs on.
  • Clear, confident communication — you can make a data story land with senior stakeholders without the jargon.
  • Comfort creating structure and process.
  • Enthusiasm for Mejuri’s mission; experience in retail, fashion, or jewelry is a strong asset.
  • We’re building an AI-fluent organization. We welcome candidates at all stages of their AI journey — what matters is curiosity, a willingness to learn, and an openness to working alongside AI tools as part of how we do our best work.

Benefits at Mejuri:

  • A minimum of four weeks vacation, plus personal days and three religious/cultural observance days.
  • A hybrid work model for all corporate roles
  • ‘Mejuri Passport’ which allows employees who meet specific criteria to work in other locations for one month per year.
  • Comprehensive medical and dental benefits, including mental health coverage, and generous personal and sick days for our full-time employees. We also offer bereavement leave, including miscarriage and stillbirth support.
  • Parental leave salary top-up of up to 80%, as well as a personalized return-to-work transition and accommodation plan for full-time employees.
  • A generous product discount!

Please note that these benefits apply to full-time employees.
