What this role involves

About OnePay

OnePay is the consumer fintech trusted by millions of Americans to make money better.

Our financial system is broken. High fees, low rates, and too few ways to actually grow your money. We’re fixing it. And we’re moving fast.

We’re an all-in-one financial services platform that brings together banking, high-yield savings, credit cards, point-of-sale lending, investing, and crypto in one place. We also partner with employers, HCM providers, gig platforms, and others to deliver embedded financial services to millions of employees and frontline workers.

We’re backed by Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, and Ribbit Capital, one of fintech’s most respected investors, giving us rare scale, distribution, and the opportunity to build something truly category-defining.

But what really sets OnePay apart is how we move. Our customers don’t have time to wait… and neither do we. This place moves fast, and we’re looking for people who are:

  • Ready to run

  • Hungry and driven by urgency

  • Exceptional at what they do, with low ego

  • Comfortable operating in motion

The Role

As a Quality Engineer at OnePay, you’ll build the systems that let our product teams ship fast without breaking things. QA teams are often seen as a bottleneck; our goal is to speed things up. This isn’t a checkbox quality engineering role - you’ll be writing real code, designing agentic testing frameworks, and working at the intersection of quality, feature, and platform engineering. You will:

  • Build and maintain automation frameworks that test our mobile app and backend systems at scale.

  • Design and develop agentic testing flows and tooling that maintains quality at the pace of development.

  • Partner with feature development and platform teams to enable testing + ship with confidence.

You Bring

  • 3–8 years of professional engineering experience in quality, SDET, or automation work.

  • An engineering background specializing in quality, not a testing background in scripts.

  • Deep understanding of the systems you’re testing and how they actually work under the hood.

  • Experience building test frameworks or automation infrastructure from scratch.

  • Comfort with AI-native development using tools like Claude or Cursor to compound your output.

  • Drive and proactivity - everyone here is a builder and executor.

Tools We Use

We use Node and TypeScript on the server, leveraging the NestJS framework within a microservice-oriented architecture running on Kubernetes and AWS. On the client side, we build and ship product features for iOS, Android, and web platforms using React Native. We also embrace AI-assisted development, so engineers have their choice of Claude Code or Cursor to fit their workflow. While you don’t need experience with our exact stack, familiarity with modern software engineering practices will help you ramp up quickly.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary, stock options, and health benefits from Day 1

  • 401(k) plan with company match

  • Remote-friendly (US), flexible time off (FTO), and opportunities for growth

  • A high-growth, mission-driven, inclusive culture where your work has real impact

  • Team Interview

  • Executive Interview

  • Offer!

We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply. Applicants in need of special assistance or accommodation during the interview process or in accessing our website may contact us at talent@onepay.com.

Engineer Controls Engineer, Fuel Fabrication at Oklo Inc

Develops and maintains instrumentation, controls systems, SCADA integration, and SQL databases for nuclear fuel fabrication facilities.

Mid Posted about 6 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Thanks for your interest in Oklo!  We are searching for a Controls Engineer to join our engineering team.

Position Description

As a Controls Engineer on Oklo’s Fuel Fabrication team, you’ll be responsible for developing instrumentation and controls (I&C) systems and the end-to-end data lifecycle for fuel manufacturing facilities that are currently being designed and constructed. This role will be pivotal in commissioning our fuel fabrication facilities, ensuring that all process equipment and facility systems are digitally integrated to provide traceability and meet facility quality requirements. Your responsibilities will include developing fuel fabrication I&C systems, connecting manufacturing equipment to the facilities’ Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, designing and maintaining SQL databases to store process and product quality data, developing inventory tracking and control tools, and supporting various other facility digital systems (e.g., preventative maintenance and work order tracking, EH&S reporting, etc.).

This is a highly cross-functional role where technical excellence and a collaborative mindset are equally valued.

Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Control Systems: Program, troubleshoot, and optimize Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
  • Instrumentation: Select, calibrate, and maintain field devices (temperature, pressure, flow, and level transmitters).
  • SCADA & PLC Integration: Collaborate with equipment vendors and Oklo process engineers to integrate machine-level data (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) into the facility-wide SCADA system.
  • Database Architecture: Design, implement, and manage SQL databases to store high-fidelity process data and product quality metrics.
  • Digital System Development: Design, implement, and manage manufacturing facility tools, such as preventative maintenance and work order tracking, inventory tracking and control, etc.
  • Automated Quality Assurance: Develop automated “Pass/Fail” logic within the SCADA/MES layer to ensure product genealogy and traceability meet nuclear regulatory standards. Develop digital product reports that can be generated from the manufacturing facility SQL database.
  • Commissioning Support: Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for software and control interfaces, ensuring data packets are accurately captured during equipment cycling.
  • Protocol Development: Draft and execute validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) for the digital systems, ensuring they are “inspection-ready” for quality audits.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of industry experience in instrumentation and controls engineering – including PLC, SCADA, SQL database, and software verification and validation (V&V) experience – preferably in a highly regulated manufacturing environment
  • Ability to write scripts in Python, VBA, or similar for data manipulation
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and other manufacturing facility documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate on cross-functional teams, integrating feedback from other engineering disciplines and vendors
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and present engineering work
  • Comfortable working with external manufacturers and engineering consultants

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience integrating custom manufacturing equipment into facility SCADA systems
  • Experience building custom manufacturing facility SQL databases for process data, product quality data, and/or auxiliary facility functions, such as preventative maintenance and work order tracking, EH&S reporting, facility inventory and procurement, etc.
  • Experience in the nuclear industry, including working under NQA-1 or similar quality standards

Competencies

We are looking for a Controls Engineer that is:

  • Proficient in programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
  • Capable of selecting, calibrating, and maintaining manufacturing instrumentation, such as temperature, pressure, and flow transmitters.
  • Proficient in SQL (PostgreSQL, MS SQL, or similar) and experience with SCADA platforms (e.g., Ignition, Wonderware, or Aveva)
  • Familiar with highly regulated manufacturing environments and quality standards (e.g., NQA-1 or similar ISO quality standards)
  • An experienced team player who can work effectively across both internal resources and external suppliers
  • Passionate about clean energy
  • Passionate about making advanced fission a reality
  • Willing and able to learn quickly
  • An optimist at heart
  • Eager to work on a dynamic team, receive constructive feedback, and grow with us
  • Willing to think differently and do things in new ways
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, highly iterative startup environment
  • Excited to think creatively, critically, and reflectively about the problems they are solving, while not leaning only on what has been done before
  • Willing to propose novel and creative solutions to technical problems
  • An excellent writer who can write in modern active voice, so make your cover letter compelling and write it well!
  • Able to communicate technical content and results verbally

Who you are:

A startup person: You aren’t driven by titles or hierarchy, and prefer efficiency to excess process. You don’t need or expect to have a lot of guidance but you enjoy working in a fast-paced team. If you prefer the culture and feel of a large organization, that is great, but you likely won’t enjoy working with us! There is plenty of important work and plenty of good opportunities with organizations like that.

Motivated: You are self-motivated. You bring an enthusiasm to the team, and imbue a sense of passion that goes beyond clocking in and clocking out. This isn’t about a fake or arbitrary “pieces of flair” mentality or lack of work-life balance! It is about being a part of the vision and feeling a part of reaching team goals.

A team-player: Oklo genuinely is a team. We aren’t about taking credit for ourselves, and we aren’t about pushing blame to others. We do incredible things because we work as a team.

An excellent communicator: We need a person who is not only technically competent but also a clear and upbeat communicator.

Creative: Being creative means that when things fall outside clear scopes or processes or problems arise without clear solutions, you are able to identify it as well as invent ways to solve a problem or fill a need without micromanagement. The successful person in this job will not only be creative, but also enjoy being creative and solving open-ended problems which may change day-by-day.

Detail-oriented: This focus is a big part of excellence, consistency, and quality. Excellent grammar and spelling matter for both good communication as well as the image of the company that we put forward.

About Oklo travel requirements:

Oklo requires remote employees to travel to headquarters (Santa Clara, CA) twice a quarter annually, based on business or team needs, including attendance at team meetings, off-sites, and other company events or gatherings. For the first two weeks of onboarding, employees are required to be in person at headquarters in Santa Clara, CA.

About Oklo compensation:

Salary: $100,000-$150,000

Oklo offers flexible time off, equity, bonuses, competitive pay, 401(k), health insurance (with employer contribution), HSA, FSA, flexible work hours, wellness credits, and other benefits.

This position may involve access to information subject to U.S. export control laws. Only applicants who meet the definition of a U.S. person under applicable laws may be eligible.

About Oklo Inc.: Oklo Inc. is developing fast fission power plants to deliver clean, reliable, and affordable energy at scale; establishing a domestic supply chain for critical radioisotopes; and advancing nuclear fuel recycling to convert nuclear waste into clean energy. Oklo was the first to receive a site use permit from the U.S. Department of Energy for a commercial advanced fission plant, was awarded fuel material from Idaho National Laboratory, and submitted the first custom combined license application for an advanced reactor to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Oklo is also developing advanced fuel recycling technologies in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy and U.S. National Laboratories.

#CHOP: Oklo’s Values

Collaboration: We go further, together. We bring diverse perspectives, listen actively, and build trust through transparency and respect. We work across disciplines, sharing ownership to turn complex challenges into shared successes.

Humility: We are team players who act for the good of the company and for the world. We are focused on our mission, not personal recognition.

Ownership: We take pride in what we do and how we do it. We are proactive in finding solutions and see tasks through  to completion. We are committed to delivering on our promises to provide clean, reliable, and affordable energy.

Pathfinding: We chart new ground where no path exists by approaching challenges with curiosity, courage, and creativity while navigating ambiguity.

Candidates should be aware that employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a drug screening, and employees may be subject to drug testing at any time in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.

Engineer Embedded Software Engineer, Tech Lead at Astera Labs

Develops embedded C firmware for high-speed connectivity devices, manages hardware bring-up, and writes test automation scripts for data center infrastructure products.

Mid Onsite Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Astera Labs (NASDAQ: ALAB) provides rack-scale AI infrastructure through purpose-built connectivity solutions. By collaborating with hyperscalers and ecosystem partners, Astera Labs enables organizations to unlock the full potential of modern AI. Astera Labs’ Intelligent Connectivity Platform integrates CXL®, Ethernet, NVLink, PCIe®, and UALink™ semiconductor-based technologies with the company’s COSMOS software suite to unify diverse components into cohesive, flexible systems that deliver end-to-end scale-up, and scale-out connectivity. The company’s custom connectivity solutions business complements its standards-based portfolio, enabling customers to deploy tailored architectures to meet their unique infrastructure requirements. Discover more at www.asteralabs.com.

Role Overview

Our analog and Ethernet connectivity products sit in the critical signal path of optical modules, copper interconnects, and high-speed networking infrastructure. Across both product lines, the firmware controlling these devices drives adaptive behaviour, calibration sequences, link management, and real-time performance, and it ends up deployed in data centers around the world. This is the kind of work where what you write actually matters.

You’ll be part of a small Ottawa-based team working directly alongside senior engineers on firmware development, hardware bring-up, test automation, and day-to-day project tracking. You won’t be handed a narrow slice of work and left alone. You’ll be involved across the board, getting exposure to how analog and Ethernet connectivity products go from silicon to production.

This is a startup, and that means things move quickly and the work doesn’t always fit neatly into a job description. If that sounds like your kind of environment, keep reading.

Level is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Firmware Development

    • Write and modify embedded C firmware for analog and Ethernet connectivity devices, including register configuration, state machines, calibration sequences, and control loops

    • Work on low-level hardware bring-up and debug alongside senior firmware engineers

    • Contribute to features spanning analog control such as gain settings and equalization parameters, as well as Ethernet link management, SERDES configuration, and diagnostics

    • Help maintain and improve the firmware codebase with clean, reviewable code

  • Test Automation and Validation

    • Write Python scripts to automate test flows, collect and analyze data, and help make the team faster

    • Work with validation teams remotely to develop and execute test plans across a range of operating conditions and corner cases

    • Help build out CI infrastructure and automated test tooling as the team grows

    • Contribute to characterizing firmware behaviour across analog and Ethernet configurations, link states, and failure modes

  • Project and Process Contributions

    • Keep Jira tickets up to date, track your own work, and flag blockers early

    • Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions

    • Communicate clearly with teammates across firmware, silicon design, and applications

Basic Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field

  • 2 to 5 years of experience writing embedded C/C++ firmware on real hardware

  • Comfort working at the hardware/software boundary: reading datasheets, poking registers, interpreting hardware behaviour from software

  • Familiarity with Linux development tools: gcc/clang, make, bash, gdb, and git

  • Some experience with Python scripting, whether for test automation, data analysis, or general utility scripts

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude; you’ll be working closely with a small team and need to keep everyone in the loop

  • A genuine interest in digging into hard problems and the persistence to see them through

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Ethernet at the system or device level: Layer 1 PHY, SERDES, retimers, gearboxes, NICs, or related devices

  • Exposure to analog or mixed-signal systems: ADC/DAC interfaces, calibration techniques, signal conditioning

  • Understanding of signal integrity concepts: equalization, jitter, eye diagrams, or link margin

  • Experience with Jira or similar tools for issue tracking and project management

  • Background with RTOS, device drivers, or bare-metal firmware on microcontrollers

  • Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, BERTs, logic analyzers or similar

  • Prior internship or co-op experience in a semiconductor or networking hardware company

Base salary range is CAD 140,000 to CAD 180,000 depending on experience, level, and business need. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits.

We know that creativity and innovation happen more often when teams include diverse ideas, backgrounds, and experiences, and we actively encourage everyone with relevant experience to apply, including people of color, LGBTQ+ and non-binary people, veterans, parents, and individuals with disabilities.

Engineer Software Engineer, Dev Tools at Airbnb

Design and operate foundational cloud infrastructure systems for developer tools and AI agent execution platforms at scale.

Mid Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.

The Community You Will Join:

Dev Tools’ mission is to help Airbnb engineers and AI agents build, validate, review, and ship high-quality software quickly, reliably, and safely.

AI-assisted development is rapidly increasing the speed, volume, and concurrency of software delivery. Our team is building the infrastructure needed to support that growth - from cloud development environments and agent execution platforms to source control, code review, validation, and polyglot monorepo tooling.

The Difference You Will Make:

As a Software Engineer on Dev Tools, you will design, build, and operate foundational systems used across Airbnb engineering. You will work on technically challenging infrastructure problems involving distributed systems, Kubernetes, developer workflows, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency, while partnering closely with teams across Developer Platform, DevAI, CI/CD, Cloud Infrastructure, and Security. You won’t just build - you’ll shape the technical direction and set the bar for craft on a small, high-impact team.

High leverage: Every improvement you make is felt by every engineer at Airbnb — plus the AI agents running on behalf of those engineers.

Greenfield platform work: The async agent execution platform is nascent. You’ll be making foundational decisions about how it scales, not inheriting someone else’s choices.

Clear business stakes: Our cloud workspace costs nearly doubled in Q1 as agentic usage surged. The tradeoff between developer productivity and infrastructure spend is real, visible, and yours to influence.

Small team, big scope: This is not a large-org role where your contribution gets diffused. The team is intentionally lean - your work ships and your decisions matter.

A Typical Day:

  • Build and operate cloud development environments and execution platforms for engineers and AI agents.
  • Scale Kubernetes-based worker pools, control planes, and APIs for parallel and asynchronous workloads.
  • Improve AirDev validation so engineers and agents can test changes quickly before CI.
  • Strengthen source-control and code-review systems as PR volume, automation, and concurrency grow.
  • Improve developer workflows across build, test, dependency management, and polyglot monorepo tooling.
  • Diagnose production issues across distributed systems, networking, storage, and orchestration
  • Setting technical direction and making high-stakes architectural decisions with significant ambiguity
  •  Mentoring engineers on the team and raising the quality bar through code review and design feedback

Your Expertise:

  • 2-4+ years of industry experience with bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
  • Experience leading and shipping large scope technical projects in collaboration with multiple experienced engineers.
  • You are a full-cycle developer: strong ownership and experience building and operating  high-scale, distributed systems across the full software life cycle.
  • Familiarity with container and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • You have excellent communication skills - you can explain complex infrastructure tradeoffs to engineers at all levels and drive cross-team alignment without formal authority
  • You are a strong problem solver and have solid debugging skills.
  • You are passionate about developer productivity and making developer lives better.
  • Cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes: You’ve built systems that run reliably at scale on AWS. You know EKS, EC2, EBS, and cloud networking (VPCs, load balancers, VPN tunneling) and have opinions on when each approach is right.
  • Platform thinking: You’ve built infrastructure that other teams build products on top of. You understand the difference between a working prototype and a platform - reliability, observability, clear contracts, and graceful failure modes.
  • Cost and efficiency: You treat infrastructure spending as a first-class concern. You’ve driven meaningful cost reduction through architectural changes, not just right-sizing.
  • Agent or async workloads (a plus): You’ve thought about the operational characteristics of async, autonomous, or long-running compute workloads - pooling, lifecycle management, isolation, secret handling.
  • Developer tooling (a plus): You care about the end-to-end developer experience. You’ve built or contributed to tools that engineers use daily and understand the difference between technically correct and genuinely usable.
  • Go, Python, or similar server-side languages. We’re pragmatic about language - you’ll learn what you need.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in one or more of the following areas is especially valuable:

  • Developer environments, remote development platforms, or sandboxed workload execution
  • Infrastructure for AI agents or asynchronous compute workloads
  • CI/CD, integration testing, build systems, or pre-submit validation
  • Git, GitHub Enterprise, source-control infrastructure, or large-scale repository hosting
  • Code-review systems, policy enforcement, code ownership, or automated review tooling
  • Kubernetes operators, workload scheduling, autoscaling, resource isolation, or capacity management
  • Bazel, monorepo tooling, dependency management, or polyglot build infrastructure
  • Platform APIs, control planes, worker pools, caching systems, or distributed queues
  • Authentication, authorization, secrets management, or secure workload execution
  • Infrastructure cost optimization and capacity planning

Engineer Software Engineer, Dev Tools at Airbnb

Design and operate cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes systems, and execution platforms that enable Airbnb engineers and AI agents to build and ship software reliably and efficiently.
